Wednesday Night Dinners are back!
5:00 to 6:45 pm
(The February 22 meal will be from 5 to 6 pm due to the Ash Wednesday Service which begins at 6:30 pm)
Dinner Reservations:
· Sign-up weekly on sheets at Sanctuary or Office Entrance

Cost of Meals: $4 per person $3 Children under 12
The UMW Spiritual Growth Retreat will be held at Lake Junaluska on June 15-16, 2012. The theme for the event is Walk with Hope. The leader is Rev. Karen Kurtz. The retreat registration began on February 1, 2012 and will continue through May 31, 2012. Advanced registration online is only $11.00 per person but if you wait and register on-site, the cost will be $20.00 per person. Register yourself and others by using the online registration link on our website at www.wnccumw.org.
Get ready to clear out unwanted "stuff"! Our annual yard sale will be here before you know it. In fact, we have already started to accumulate treasures. If you have something to be picked up, please call 287-0056, Bobbie. Once again, we are being allowed to store under the Perry-Moore House in the garage. It's not too early to start sorting out those things you want to replace. The sale will be held on Saturday, May 5 during the Annual Mayfest. More later.

YOKEFELLOW IS ASKING FOR DONATIONS of Self Rising Flour (5lb. Bags or smaller) during the months of February, March, and April.
It is time to register our Friendship Club children for a week at Camp Tekoa. We are planning to go to camp the week of June 18 (Monday) through June 22 (Friday). Our third and fourth graders will be attending Adventure Day Camp. They will be transported back and forth each day. The cost of the camp is $190 per child. If any individual or group would like to make a donation for a child to attend camp, please let Pam Craft or Cindy Hill know by February 17. "The Breakfast Club - Food For Your Soul" Sr. High Sunday school class is looking for substitute teachers to fill in occasionally for Grades 9th - 12th. The Youth Kitchen is in need of basic household kitchen items such as measuring spoons, measuring cups, pitchers, utensils, knives, pot holders, baking dishes, cookware, a toaster, and several other basic equipment. If you are planning to do any spring cleaning, please keep the youth kitchen in mind! We also need lamps (any shape, size or color). Thanks in advance for your assistance. The UMW will be collecting items to make Health Kits for UMCOR during the month of February. Listed below are the items that we need. We will leave a list of these items in the office and a drop box in the hallway on 1st and 2nd floors. Thank you so much for your support.

THE EXTRA DOLLAR is an invitation to members of First Church who give to the church monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually or by mail, to place “an extra dollar” in the offering plate each Sunday. This is a way to participate in worship through giving, and serve as an example to our children and youth and visitors of our love of Christ and our church.
Volunteers needed: Hospice of Rutherford County is in need of volunteers. As they serve more and more patients, it requires more volunteers. There are many opportunities for volunteering - something for everyone – from 1 hour to several. Please consider getting involved today. For more information on volunteer trainings in Rutherford County please call Hospice at 245-0095.
Hospice is also in need of supplies. You will find a supply list on the porch bulletin board and there is a box in the church office marked “Hospice” for your donations. Thanks!

WOMEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST: You don't have to cook nor clean. We meet in a private room each Tuesday morning at 7:00 at Carolina Cafe in Spindale. All women are invited and participants come from various community churches. Following a short devotional there is a prayer time for individual and community concerns and beyond. You don't need an invitation nor a reservation. Just come. (We’re out by 8:00 if that meets your schedule for work or other obligations.) Questions?
